Geranium (Essential Oil)

Geranium essential oil is extracted through steam distillation of the stems and leaves of a plant named Pelargonium graveolens.

This essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy and provides numerous health benefits.

It has a rosy aroma and share almost the same therapeutic traits with rose essential oil. Thus it is given a name “poor man’s rose”.

 

Use of Geranium Oil

Aromatherapy – To treat acne, sore throat, anxiety, depression, and insomnia

Skin problems treatments – Its antiseptic properties can help to treat a variety of skin problems, such as burns, frostbite, fungal infections, athlete’s foot, and eczema

Speed up healing of wound – It triggers blood clotting

Heal insect bite and stop itching

Used as massage oil – To treat aching muscles and stress

Prevents skin sagging and wrinkling – Its astringent properties causes muscles, skin, blood vessels and tissues to contract

Elimination of scars and dark spots – It helps to improve blood circulation right below the skin surface and thus promoting equal distribution of melanin

Serve as deodorant
