Just as beeswax is a humectant, so is honey.
What is Honey
Honey is a sweet food made by bees using nectar from flowers. The variety produced by honey bees (the genus Apis) is the one most commonly referred to, as it is the type of honey collected by most beekeepers and consumed by people.
Honey soothes and softens skin
Applying honey directly to the skin helps to soften the skin and to draw hydration to it. Honey can be added to things like lotions, shampoos and conditioners and it is one of our staple ingredients.
What’s really neat about honey though, is that if you happen to end up with a tan you really didn’t want and you’re now paying for the extra sun exposure, honey can help you in getting rid of the tan all together.
You can mix equal parts almond oil, lemon juice, milk powder, and honey and you can apply it to your hands, face, and other affected areas. Wait 20 minutes, wash off the mixture and follow up with one of our luxurious body butters to soothe and soften.
Your skin will thank you for the extra love!
